I feel like Julie in the movie Julie and Julia.....how weird is it that I am starting a blog, only because I want a way to share my joys, struggles, and life experiences...but mainly my experimentation with being a college girl trying to cook different recipes with the budget of whatever ingredients are in the on campus dining hall and convenience store. I am challenging myself to try to make at least one solid and delicious meal a week from now until the end of the semester with ONLY ingredients found in the oh-so-lovely RofC Dining Hall. I am excluding having to buy spices, or raw meats, but everything else coming from d-hall. There are approximately 7 weeks left in the semester and that means I can come up with a full week's meals. Perfect!
My cooking "style" if that is what you want to call it, is a mixture between Paula Dean for deserts...because if you are going to eat a desert you might as well go all the way. And for main dishes, simple and tasty! leaning towards Rachel Ray.
Anyone following this, I do not currently eat red meat or pork, so my dishes will either be meat free or involve chicken, turkey or fish (although I despise tuna).
My first week will start March 1st, and I will just have to see what d-hall comes up with for me to cook with!
